My 5x5

TV Shows I've enjoyed this year...

Who is America? - The most recent work of Sacha Baron Cohen, this dark and unsettling look at modern day America is both hilarious and disturbing.

Dark Tourist - another dark choice. Shown on Netflix, this is eye-opening, provocative and highly addictive. A journalist from New Zealand visits the places in the world you want to go to, but don't.

Atlanta - written by and starring Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino), this is a new and adventurous way to make a hard-hitting sitcom.

3% - I watched the first series of this on Netflix. It is set in a dystopian world, where only 3% of the population get to live in the idyllic, but mysterious, 'Offshore'.

Casualty - I watched this with my mum recently and found it incredibly gripping... probably because it was an end-of-series special... Nevertheless, it was well written, prime time Saturday night viewing.

Music I've been listening to this year

Boy Azooga - A band from Cardiff I recently heard about. I have the privelege of seeing these guys play in Wales recently. They were just so happy. Very uplifting.

Dirty Projectors - I've liked this act for a long time. They've recently changed a bit and the new album is awesome.

Childish Gambino - so catchy, so talented, so hard-hitting. Who hasn't seen this video yet!? If you haven't, be prepared to be shocked.

Kevin Morby - lo-fi, self-deprecating and beautiful.

Anna Calvi - what a voice, what a guitarist and what a performer!
